The House is an Idea
Written By Jonathan Petch
The House is an Idea constitutes a study of one of the fundamental building types in architectural practice. Starting with a tour of a number of legendary modernist houses, the Peruvian architecture studio Llosa Cortegana provides insight into the influences and principles that have guided their practice for the past 15 years. They present 40 domestic spaces that prioritize the project over the process and even over the finished building, explained by means of plans, sections, elevations and axonometric views that lay bare the architecture and form a dense weave of ideas about the house.
